    London 2014 (updated 7/3/15)

    Tuesday 25-11-2014

Flight was at 6 in the morning and so we packed everything we needed and headed for the airport. Our flight was to KL first and then we took another plane to get to London Heathrow. As soon as we reached KLIA, we had to rush and board for the next flight already. My backpack was definitely heavy. Loaded with all the stuff I needed to survive a 14 hour long flight as well as the winter coat and winter gears i'd need as soon as I get there. Believe me, it's much more convenient that way.

We boarded the A380 and we directly headed off to our seats located in the upper deck. The plane was great though and we flew Malaysia Airlines but I preferred Emirates better because it looked and felt much more better and surprisingly cozier. Plus, they had glow in the dark stars on the ceiling so that looked amazing. I got to sit further away from my mom and brother (somehow I really enjoyed that) and I actually got an empty seat next to me so go me right! I got to lay down so I was happy. Survived the whole flight laughing while I watched comedy movies, playing sappy games that remind me of my childhood days like Insaniquarium (all I did was put a whole load of fishes till my cursor disappeared) and listen to Lana Del Rey and Fall Out Boyz. They have an impressive amount of great songs in the plane.

Reached Heathrow London at around 4pm (London time) which was around midnight in Malaysia. The driver we hired fetched us from the airport to send us to our service apartment. It was the same driver as the one in the previous visit and he remembered us so it was great.

    Wednesday 26-11-2014

Got up early in the morning (jetlag what?) and munched on a lot of things we brought in our luggages from Malaysia and hey it was definitely worth it. It was sort of like a quick breakfast and we were also saving plenty of money from eating outside.

Went to Oxford Street in where I was eager to enter Primarks especially during this time of the year (just like last year) where there were Sales everywhere. The place was crowded with people and my honest tip, if you're going to shop, do it slow and steady. It's literally packed with people you'd get massive headaches by not only looking at the big place with plenty of clothes to buy but also by looking at all the human beings happily shopping for Christmas. One more tip to survive, don't split up with your group because it's hell to locate them back and the place is huge. I visited Primarks around 3 times and I swear to you I got lost 3 times too.

Anyways, I got to talk and have a chat with the security officers there and they were nice and friendly. I guess being them can be boring. Standing around and watching out. Soon after the chit chat and all my attempts to find my family, they suggested me to head to Customer Services to make an announcement and so I did. Finally found my mom though so yay me.

The shopping bags soon after were very heavy and to add on to the pain, we got lost a few times because we took the wrong buses. It was so tiring. The public transportation system in London is super easy and I might just do a post on a few tips and pointers to go around in case you're ever interested in how it works (might be my next post).

I loved the idea of how the cafes are there in London and since we had to hunt down for Halal food, we went to this cafe named "Bayswater Cafe" located well, in Bayswater of course! and personally I thought it tasted good. Been eating there since the last visit.

And so London had this huge mall named "Westfield" and I sort of went in there to escape a little from the cold. I love the makeup I bought from Essence and I wished there was one in the place I currently live in now . Was so hungry and I got to eat kebabs!

Took the bus later on afterwards when we were done with everything in the mall to Harrods where it was freezing cold for me. I don't know why but I just dislike being inside Harrods because I feel the aisles or walkways whatever are narrow and everyone seems to be pushing or crowded and it's sort of hot and sweaty at times. Or maybe it's just me who feels this way.

Got to stop by at Marks & Spencer where they have the best belgian chocolate brownies i've ever tasted. The texture and the taste was just amazing. And also out of all the drinks I could've bought, I bought a milkshake when I was already starting to internally freeze. Believe me when I tell you that so far after eating everything chocolate related, i've come to a conclusion that anything that says belgian chocolate taste great.

Took the bus back to Lower Addison Gardens which was a bus stop sort of close to the place I was staying. I was staying in a apartment in Hammersmith so I guess all I had to do was walk a little and cross a bridge.

Went to visit Trafalgar Square because I thought it was a nice place from the last visit (best place to be taking pictures too *hint*) and went inside the National Art Gallery right in front of it. I admired the paintings and everything it represented although my mom, little brother and also myself practically glanced at everything and didn't consume enough time staring at the paintings....

Another honest thing I like about London that I find very interesting is the protests they do all around and the creative art. I am amazed at all the creative things people do around there and all their kinds of protests and interesting ways of protesting.

We walked a lot to find Trafalgar Square after we hopped off the bus at Oxford Circus. A useful tip if you're Malaysian, "Circus" basically means roundabout.

Bought the cutest phone casing too

    Saturday 29-11-2014

Decided to visit Holland Park and the park was great. I mean it was pretty and not like the parks i'd usually see in my country of course but it is just a park so it was okay. We walked from our place and eventually got the place after walking a fair distance.

I was excited at the park though as this kind lady and her baby offered us food to feed the peacocks ourself. It sort of hurt when they pecked but it was hella ticklish at the same time.

And for the next part, let's just say we also decided to go to Primarks again and the same thing happened to me a second time..I got lost inside and same old story as before bla bla bla so yeah. I did shop more of course.

    Sunday 30-11-2014

Okay so here's the thing about shopping in Primark. The queues are Great Wall of China long in the ladies fitting room and they limit you to only 8 items per fitting. Also, the place is packed with people.

Do I have the time and the patience to go to the fitting room? No.

Do I have a body that fits with a lot of clothes perfectly? No.

So for me, buying clothes that fit me perfectly is like playing russian roulette. And often I fit the clothes that I didn't expect to fit and not fit into the clothes I thought i'd fit. My problem exactly.

So I had to go visit Primarks again the next morning to exchange my sizes. Aha the great thing about Primarks is that it's returnable and exchangeable surprisingly within a MONTH. In my country it's only till like idk 3 days?

Well Primarks wasn't opened yet by the time I got there so I walked around Marble Arch and had breakfast at Coffee Republic. The sandwiches were totally delicious and so was the hot chocolate.

I was leaving for Paris the next day so I had to cash in my Oyster Card (yes you can cash it in and get your money back of whatever's left in it) that very night. My mom had to print our Disneyland tickets because apparently Disneyland tickets only get emailed to you a week before the date and so we had to find a Cyber Cafe.

None of them met my mom's exact requirements and she couldn't get wifi so it was hard. Anyways, we finally solved the problem when we were on the way to the Kings Cross Station to go onboard the Eurostar train to Paris and the driver stopped by a Cyber Cafe and we finally solved the whole problem.

The eurostar train ride first was to Lille and then from there, we'd "exchange" and take another train to Marnee La Valle. Stayed at Hipark Residence, Serris and it was beautiful and definitely a great place to stay in although it took us a lot of time just to find the place itself. All that walking though.

It was 3 degrees outside and I was literally freezing my ass off
